My skirt didn't feel any looser today than last week so I hope I'm pleasantly surprised to find tomorrow morning that I have lost a pound. I actually lost 3 pounds!!! I've got a long way to go but I'm feeling more energetic.
I've stayed the same...so no loss, but no gain either so thats a good thing. This week will be a test as I have the week off from work, so as long as I don't get bored and want to pick I'll be fine. If I do I'll just go for an apple...:)
Walked some 7 miles yesterday and today. I dont go on a scale untill I get in my pants! Any other good ideas except bailine for getting it off from the tummy area, hips. Weird light fenomen outside...looks like someone light a big lamp outside.. what is that? Anyway I just herd that we gather fat there where our sirkulation is not that good. That is why bailine and elekricthings work so well there, even the old masage things. Masage helps a bit too.
I weighed in today and was surprised to see 2 pounds gone. I didn't think I did so good eating this week but I did get my daily walk in. I live in Maine so can't get out but I walk in place for at least 30 minutes and end by running up and down the stairs a couple of times. Must be working
I think I lost another pound--Can't remember what I weighed in at last week LOL--I'm going to start writing it down--made a card now! Even the pound is good because I felt I blew my diet alot this week so I'm happy with that!
I actually gained a pound and a half this week. But I knew I blew it so the amount wasn't as bad as I thought. I just need to keep it going in the other direction.
But am Pleased that I am down a total of 7 & 1/2 pound for the month so far.
I lost 5 lbs the first week and 2 pounds this week. I work as special education advocate and sit in long IEP meetings with school staff and parents. Did a lot of sitting over the weekend as we got my advocacy business on the web. I can tell I didn't move around enough because I feel very sluggish today. Too cold out to walk so I'll mall walk today. Husband was doing this with me be found out he's got a stash of goodies he was sneaking food from. Told him one day a week he should eat what he wants and rest of the week try to stick to the plan.
The IPhone application told me to keep my calorie intake at no more than 1200 a day but it does add a few calories back if I report that I have exercised. I eat really plain foods and measure everything which makes it easier to track the calories. It takes a little more time to record what I eat, but if I don't keep track I eat way too much.
I got out my old Richard Simmons Sweating to the oldies dvd today. I was doing it when my son came home from school. He just said, "Mom I know you are having fun, but can you close the drapes so the neighbors don't see you." I thought it was very funny. He wasn't rude about it, just funny. I tried to get him to join me but at 14 doing Richard Simmons isn't fun for him. Go figure.
Okay, my "official" weigh-ins with the weight loss challenge I'm doing at the gym are every other Friday. But I've decided to go ahead and weigh in here at home every week.
My loss for this week is 7 pounds. (that's actually a 2 week total for the 2 weeks of the weight loss challenge). Can't complain!
I was up a half pound this week. I do real well during the day and blow it at night! I am going to really try and stay on track this week. I need to be down 10 pounds by the time I leave for El Salvadore in February. I'm half way there!
I will report a loss or gain next time because I'm just starting today. I wanted to share a list with you that I found for the top ten cholesterol lowering foods. I'm sure some of you are familiar with them. I'm going to post multiply lists of foods I can eat in moderation on my fridge. Best to have a nice big list of good things to choose from so we don't feel so deprived. Then when nothing sounds good you can scan your lists. In the coming weeks I plan to add more list like: Foods that help your insulin levels, best antioxidants foods etc. Please share any information you have so we can help each other replace some of those unhealthy choices we have been making with a healthy choice. These list will also be a big help when making the grocery store list.
Top Ten Cholesterol Lowering Foods
One - Apples Two - Beans and vegetables Three - Brown Rice Four - Cinnamon Five - Garlic Six - Grapes Seven - Oats Eight - Salmon Nine - Soy Ten - Walnuts
I was really surprised when I hopped on the scales this morning - down 1.5 pounds for my first week. YEA. Not sure how when I was evil Friday with queso, chips and salsa but I'll take it. I keep a food diary for each day which helps me track my calories. My goal is to hit at least 4 veggies, 2 fruits and 3 proteins a day. It's amazing how many ways one can prepare chicken. Sandra in GA
Wayne and I laughed about Eric telling his mom to shut the drapes when exercising with Richard Simmons, "Sweating to the Oldies." I used to do that all the time when we lived in Provo. I even found the video and worked out with Richard a few times a few months ago. I think it's really fun!
My scale said I was up a "few" pounds. I know I wasn't an angel last week, but I really think most of the increase (ok, it was 4 pounds) is because I'm still swelling because of a protein defficiency problem about 7 months ago. The doctor told me late last week that I could keep swelling for a year or 2. I certainly hope not!! anyway, I'll just have to deal with whatever comes my way. Regardless, I still need to watch what I eat a little more closely.
Since y'all mentioned it, I do have the Richard Simmons DVDs. Hopefully I'll be able to make myself get them out this week and actually USE them! They certainly aren't helping me by sitting on the shelf gathering dust! I just have to find time between getting ready to host a bridal shower for my niece this weekend!
Here's to a better week! I think I'll go have an apple!
Thanks so much everyone for your inspirations this week. I actuallly went up a pound but now I will get serious.I too have a Richard Simmons tape I am going to hunt up. I am starting a notebook now for this group with my weigh ins on every Monday. Thank you Kathy for doing this. I will look forward to reading comments by others in our group and make a seriuos commitment to do this. Have a great week everyone and be happy. April
I lost another pound. I am only 1 pound away from my goal, then to maintain that. I did have Taco Bell today. My poor son was starving and asking for TB after school. What kind of mother would I be if I denied my son food?! ha, just kidding. I had 2 bean burritos but our next weigh in is a week away so it'll be ok. Keep up the good work everyone!
Hi, Kathy, Well, it's been a tough week as here in Iowa we had an ice storm last week that kept me in the house for two days, and then a blizzard yesterday. In between those events, the roof over my patio collapsed! Luckily, no one hurt and homeowner's insurance will take care of that. Too bad there's not weight loss insurance! Didn't lose any this week, but didn't gain. Thanks for your ongoing encouragement and interesting blog posts. I need to go buy some apples!
I forgot to weigh in! I had a doctor's appointment on Tuesday, and according to the scale, I've lost four pounds! WooHoo! Some of that is probably water weight, but I'll take it! :o) Linda S.
