"An Apple a Day Bunch" Post Here

I weighed in and lost 1 pound. I'm going to try and do more exercise this week to make sure that I keep losing. Even if you maintain I think that's great!

I really can't believe this, but I lost 3 pounds. I checked 5 times to see if it was right. It was weird. I didn't exercise, but then. I work at a hardware store and I was bending, stretching, carrying one or two pounds(maybe more) of stuff.

My weigh in on Sunday. I am down 2 more for a total of 10!! With each pound I am feeling better, more energetic.

I lost 1.5 lbs this past week. I'm good with it. I bet it would be have been 2 lbs had we not gone to IHOP Saturday night for their all you can eat pancakes and eggs. Come to think of it, Im lucky I lost any weight after that one. Onward!

Hello,

Lost my pound for the week. I need to make many changes in the way I eat. Starting today I'm going to try to eat breakfast. A small amount of protein and whole grain. Hopefully this will kick start my metabolism for the day. I'm going to give you another list today. I'm posting mine on the fridge and trying to eat foods from these list.

Top Ten Antioxidant Foods

One - Berries
Two - Broccoli
Three - Tomatoes(cooked)
Four - Red Grapes
Five - Garlic
Six - Spinach
Seven - Tea
Eight - Carrots
Nine - Soy
Ten - Whole Grains

Note: Garlic, Soy and Grapes are also on the top ten foods to fight cholesterol.

Also, read somewhere that grapes put in the freezer make a nice treat. Has anyone ever tried that?

I am the same as last Monday, which is good, as I was expecting to gain. We have had 3 birthdays in the family this month and thus 3 cakes, but I am at the same weight as when we started this weigh-in.

Well, I dropped 3 pounds from last week! However, I'm still 1 pound above where I was 2 weeks ago. So I'm still working on staying on my eating plan. Also trying to increase/add exercise. The scale is still not being a friend. I'm bummed about that, but I know I'm the only one who can do something about it. It's onward and upward!

Recipe:

Baked Salmon (or crab or tuna) Patties
makes 8-3 oz patties

12 oz Salmon (2-6 oz envelopes salmon skinless and boneless)

1 cup plain bread crumbs divided in half.

1/4 cup Light Hidden Valley Ranch Salad Dressing

1 tsp parmesan cheese

1 pinch garlic powder

1/4 tsp onion powder

1 tsp dried crushed red pepper (optional but really good)

1/2 cup sharp cheddar, shredded (optional but really good)

Preheat Oven at 400 degrees

Combine all but 1/2 cup of the bread crumbs, making sure that salmon is broken down into as small as flakes as possible before adding in other ingredients. Mixture should be similar to meatloaf consistency.

Put remaining 1/2 cup bread crumbs in small bowl. Make 8- 1/4 cup size balls of the mixture. Roll each ball in the bread crumbs, then flatten to deck of card thickness, giving one more coating of bread crumbs.

Place each patty on a cookie sheet coated generously with cooking spray.

Bake for 10 minutes or until bottom is golden brown. Using spatula, flip each patty over, making sure to recoat each area of cookie sheet with cooking spray before putting un-browned side of patty on the cookie sheet. Bake another 7-10 minutes until bottom is golden brown.

Great served by itself or used as something to spread on crackers or in a sandwich.

I've stayed the same again. I've been the same weight for 3 weeks. I think my scales are stuck...lol. Hmm...getting a little fed up with that now,perhaps I need to rethink the types of food I eat.

Once again I have not gained. yippy, but unfortantly I have lost either. Just maintaining the weight I have is not going to help. Gues I have to try harder, any suggestions?

Last week was a good week mentally, with a little wobble in practice, but I still lost 2.5 pounds.

Here's a neat trick for going out to lunch - take a little container of your favorite low fat salad dressing to work with you on Monday and keep it in the office 'fridge. Then when someone says, "want to go to lunch"?, you can tuck it in your purse. Order a great salad while out and sub-in your own dressing.

Ugh - same weight. Didn't lose, but I didn't gain so that's okay. Had 3 apples this week (that's a lot for me). But, I also had donuts this weekend, which didn't help. Promise to do better......not snacking as much either.

I lost 4 pounds! I am still in shock! All I did was walk for one hour every day. I did cut back on my sweets.

I had something weird happen to me this morning. I woke up to take a shower and my legs were shaking so much I barely could stand up. It only lasted for about 10 minutes. But it was scary. Don't you hate it when scary things happen to you?

I have to say, Kathy. My clothes have feel a little looser. Lately my pants have been very tight around my thighs, and I noticed its not that tight anymore.

With my 30th birthday coming up on Wednesday and my birthday dinner on Saturday, I'm going to try not to eat too much.

Frozen grapes are delicious although the green ones really work best.

I am having some serious trouble in the evenings, I am up 1/2 pound again!! UGH!! Maybe I need to go to bed at 7:00 so that the munchies won't set in.

I love frozen grapes! I usually have the green grapes frozen, but I've had red ones too. They are good too. Frozen grapes are also good in water or Crystal lite type drinks. They help keep it cold and give a flavor addition. I just have to be careful because grapes can be higher in calories and if you eat too many they can cause too many bathroom trips!

I stayed the same weight.....was good until my mother-in-law came to visit for the weekend and we both have a tremendous sweet tooth. However, I did buy my one-a-day apples so this week should be better.

Evenings can be hard. Is there something you can do with your hands? Crocheting helps me some nights.

Or I'll leave something to eat that is satisfying but won't hurt anything like a small serving of frozen blueberries or whatever.

i just put on a pair of jeans i haven't been able to wear in 4 yrs and i didnt have to hold my breath to zipper them!!!!yaaaay

This is my first time to report in. I've lost about 5 lbs. in the past few weeks, but I've been craving sugar so bad. I'm sure I will give in and eat it. Oy!

I'm just bouncing around on the scale. I was down 3lbs with help from a 24hr stomach bug, but by Monday I was back up again. My iron & B12 levels were really low, so my doctor put me on iron pills 3x a day to see if my levels go up. I have to take them after my meals. Well, they're not sitting well on my stomach now. I'm only taking 1 a day now & I still feel like crap....stomach ache, nausea.....total crap! I tried eating more food to see if it would help...all it did was make me gain weight. So, I'm at a loss now...eat and feel sick or don't eat and feel sick. HA! My doctor is on vacation this month. I have to go back next month for more bloodwork to see if my levels go up. Thing is, I never felt bad before he found out my levels, so maybe I'll just forget it all. I HATE doctors!! Having a stomach ache 24/7 bites!!

Good going everyone! Even if you had a tough week stick with it! Saturday I weighed myself and I was 1 pound below my target! WOW! I feel good but...loosing weight has made the wrinkles around my eyes more noticable. Can someone recommend a good eye cream? ha! Oh, and yes, frozen grapes are good especially in hot weather. We take them to Cub Scout summer day camp with us.

Hi Kathy, I hope that you don't mind me joining you late. I am a member of Slimming World and so far this year managed to put on 1lb. I have given myself a good talking to and hope to do much better at my weigh in this Tuesday. Got a Cruise lined up for later in the year and I am hoping to be down to target in time to buy some nice outfits.
