Jimmy made it to next week!!!

Thanks to all of you and your votes, Jimmy made it to next week's UK television show "Popstar to Operastar." We watched Jimmy over the computer live and didn't think that he should have been in the bottom 2 but everyone has their own opinion. It made the show exciting and stressful! It was fun to see Michelle there supporting him. I'm not familiar with any of the other pop stars. Are they really popular in the UK? What is your opinion of reporting on Wayne's forum on the Osmond Brothers' website every Monday about the support groups instead of the blog? There would be more privacy since we would have to sign in to the forum and it would be easier to keep track of the individual groups. We could post weight loss recipes and other items that would pertain to that individual group. Do you like the name "Go Away Little Pound" for the weight loss group? You can go to "Kathy's Blog" and the "Forum" from the top menu on Wayne's website. Any other suggestions? Waiting to hear more creative names for the groups. I have always loved Friday nights. Hope you enjoy your Friday night.

Hi Kathy,

It was nail biting wasn't it...I couldn't look at the television when we were waiting for the phone votes result at the end. I thought he did very well but then I'm not an opera or Italian expert...lol

I'm not sure about the popularity of all the other celebs but some of them have quite large fanbases. Danny is from a band called McFly and they are very popular amongst the younger generation. So is Vanessa although it seems her fans let her down this week. She's from a group called The Saturdays. Kym Marsh is an actress on one of our popular soaps. She used to be in a band called Hearsay. In fact, The presenter Myleen Klass was also in the same band. They were brought together on one of Simon Cowells Talent shows a few years ago. Myleen is now a classical Pianist and TV presenter. Darius also became famous through the same show. (I love Darius and if it wasnt for Jimmy being on the show, I'd be voting for him...:) )

Bernie Is from a famous group of Irish sisters called the Nolans and I think you'll find The Osmond Bros know them quite well...:) and finally Marcella is from Shakespeare Sisters. Not sure if they are still together or not.

I don't mind where we report to for the support group. Wayne's forum will be fine but I'm also fine with this so I'll go along with whatever you choose.

I love Friday nights as well. Its my first night off of the week as I work from Sunday to Thursday nights then get Friday and Saturday off. But as from tonight I have a whole week off which is even better.

Have a lovely weekend Kathy...:)

I thought Jim did just fine, but they gave him a rotten song. It was too easy for him to slip into pop with Volare. Also Dino sang it pop and everyone knows it that way. Must be hard to keep away from it. I thought he was better last week.
There shouldn't have been a bottom two. The girl that went is not committed. Probably a bit young for it. Hope they give him a better song next week. Look forward to it.

Hi All:

Off topic first - I found the "Corky" reference (from our nickname thread). In the Osmond Trivia Book, question 398 was "True or False. In the 70's, Donny's nickname was Corky." The answer was true. It didn't say why, but at least the book confirmed I hadn't lost my mind (so easy to do now-a-days!).

I agree with Jane, it doesn't matter to me where we report. Not wild about "go away little pound". I like the apple theme - it stays true to the "apple" theme of your blog. And being a life time dieter, there is no such thing to me as a "little pound". They are all big, ugly pounds! LOL If only they were as easy to lose as they are to gain.

And thank you Jane for telling us who Jimmy's competition is. I hadn't heard of any of them. I watch the UTube link as I'm at work when the show airs here on the east coast, so I don't get to see how the others do compared to Jimmy. Bottom 2 is a bad place to be but Jim's doing a great job AND he's continuing on. Go Jimmy!!

Happy weekend to all, Sandra in GA

Well done Jimmy and I don't believe he should have been in the bottom two either, but onwards and upwards in Jimmy's words! LOL I'm voting like crazy, so it's not for the want of trying and I'll do the same again next week but I do understand even some in the UK are experiencing problems registering their votes - so minds are boggling here?!!!

As for the name "Go away little pound" I love it too - although I'm not joining in right now, it's a good suggestion! :) Keep up the good work!

Hi
I enjoyed seeing Jimmy on Utube too..He just seems so happy in what he does. I mean all the Brothers Im sure enjoy what they do..but if you watch the 50th Anniversary DVD..He is just glowing..It makes you feel good to see someone just so happy and obviously enjoying life. Hope he stays on the show till the end.
Im not good on coming up with any names..anything except yoyo..because yoyo dieting is so unhealthy..and I dont want any of these pounds yo-ing back on.. vbg
Im not a member at the Brothers forum..so I like reporting here..but I think if we stay here..it would be easier to report different groups different days.. For instance.. Bible reading on Sunday..Diet group on Mondays..etc.. Whatever everyone decides is fine with me..
Hope everyone is having a great weekend..
Kathy..a question for you>I love playing tetris on gameboy.>Is Wayne playing online and if so..where? Id love to find it..Thx
Take Care Everyone

Dear Kathy

I don't like Go away little pounds. It makes it sound like its not a big deal to lose weight. Like it is not a big problem. I like The Proud Ones. Because we should all be proud of working on improving our health.

Congratulations to Jimmy, I too don't believe he should have been in the bottom two, but at least he's through to next week. Has anyone in Canada or the US been able to get throught to vote? I'm in Canada and have tried, but can't get through (it does say from a UK landline, but thought i'd give it a try anyway) Interesting to read from Dianna that some people in the UK are also having problems voting!
I don't mind weighing in on the blog or the forum. How about the Happy Losers for a name??

I just watched Jimmy sing, I thought he did great!!! He did revert to the "pop" version of that song a bit - BUT he was amazing.. Jimbo, you got some amazing pipes!!! Congrats on making it through to next week!!!

I watched the show on the computer live as well. I tried to vote but was unable to get my call to go through. I agree, Jimmy shouldn't have been in the bottom two. I know his voice was tired, and the song would have been difficult for anyone to keep from slipping in to their "pop" voice. I never even thought of that song as opera, so color me surprised to hear that was his song!

I'll report in tomorrow -- oops! later today -- LOL!! with my weight loss.
