Names for 3 Support Groups?

The diet group - I totally blew my diet yesterday after weighing in. I didn't exercise either. Last night when Wayne offered the pretzels and chips I said "no" at first and then finally gave in when he passed them to me the second time. I wouldn't let him have them back when tried to take them away. Ha! It's a good thing it was Monday. I've got a whole week ahead.

The exercise group - Some of you have suggested that we have an exercise group where we have to report in on Monday that we made our exercise goals, met our physical therapy goals, etc. Since all of us have different exercise goals we'll just check in once a week to report whether or not we completed our individual goals. My goal is going to be to do some kind of exercise (besides cleaning the house) 30 minutes, 5 times a week. That gives me the weekend off if I want it and is more realistic than saying 6 or 7 times a week. I've never liked exercising.

The reading group - Wayne and I took turns last night reading the Old Testament out loud to each other. The goal to read 2 chapters a day or 14 chapters a week seemed to be reasonable. Once we got started we were enjoying ourselves and Wayne suggested that we continue and so we read 3 chapters. It's a lot more fun reading and discussing what we had read together, so you might want to read with a spouse or friend too.

Wayne doesn't really like typing on the computer because he thinks that it takes too much time. I usually end up typing for him. He tells me what he wants to say and I type it for him. I'm going to get him a typing tutor so he can improve his speed. He said that he was willing to practice so that's going to be a goal for him this year. Maybe once he gets his speed up he'll contribute on the blog. Ha! I can always post his comments for him.

Everyone come up with at least one suggestion for the name of each group you are going to participate in so it will be easy to identify which group we are reporting on. I'll put all the suggestions in a box and have Wayne draw the name out of the box and we'll call the group that name. Tell us your suggestions by Friday. Got to go do Wii Fit now.

HOw about We Fit for the dieting group? I lost a pound last week, but if found it's way back yesterday and I really don't know why. Frustration!

Your exercise goals sound great. I will aim for the 5 days a week also. My exercise program includes my recumbent bike (exercise bike with a seat with a back like a chair.(more comfortable for your back) and then various exercises ,its just my physical therapist has prescribed what I do..and then increases or decreases as needed.Update with him monthly usually).but its still exercises. When it warms up, we have a pool and I will include swimming then.
I dusted off my Bible and started reading tonight. I dont think the Old Testament is going to be near as easy as reading the new..Im glad to have yall for support with that. It is going to take some dedication.
ON the diet side..What changes are folks doing??Im just wanting all the Christmas chocolate out of the house..Will make it much easier. Still doing good on no fried things.
Will try to come up with 3 names..Going to be a tough one.. Have a good night..Off to think up some names for the groups

for the exercise group I like the We Fit name too. Wasn't really surprised to see it already suggested. I don't really have any suggestions for the other groups.
BTW a really good typing tutor program is Mavis Beacon. It has been around for along time and is often used in the schools here in Maine. I have a copy and really like it as it is helping me get rid of some bad habits that is increasing my speed.
Thanks for starting this blog. Iam really enjoying it.

I would love to join your weight loss group, and the working out group and the reading group! I guess I will ditch the BOM and start with the Old Testament! LOL!

Weightloss Group: "Smallest Winners"??? (Hey no one likes to be called the Biggest, or a Loser! LOL)
Workout Group: "Footsteps"??? (love the idea of We Fit...cute!)
Reading Group: OTT = Old Testament Team? (Hey, I never said they were good suggestions! LOL)

I want to be a part of all of them. i still like the "Apples of His Eye" for the dieting part of it. By the way Kathy I blew it too the day after weighing in. UGH!!! Can't think of anything catchy for the other two groups. Maybe I'll just refer to the reading part as the "OT Readers", I use my reading glasses to see these days. I kind of like KLR's idea, how about WeBFit, since all of you have the Wii, therest of us just want to be fit - that would be for the exercising part of it. I work at a gym, my goal is to try and get in there 3 times a week to workout.

Names for the groups? Well,I'm participating in the diet and the Old Testament Group. I already suggested Apple Fritters for the group, or how about KAST? (Kathy's Apple Support Team?) Okay, now I'm stretching, but we could call the Old Testament Group: KAST OTHERS (Kathy's Apple Support Team-- Old Testament Helps Every Reader Study!)Or just OTHERS. See, told you I was stretching! LOL! Old Testament Helps Every Readers' Spirit? Anyway, I'll stop now! Whatever you decide to call it, I'm glad you're doing it. (Hi to Wayne!)

Talking to Paul (hubby) here....

At first he said "Kathy's Clowns" - I go hey......

His suggestion: The Green Apple (HAH).
My suggestion: One Step Forward

Or, in going with your nickname how about
"The Taffy Apples" (LOL)

Look out for our name everyone if Wayne is picking it - HEE HEE!!!

I like your idea Kathy - work on losing weight 5 days a week, and not 7 - we do need a few days off. When I lost 40 lb s. years ago I had one cheat day - allowed to eat whatever I wanted. You know what, I actually didn't want to eat a lot of the junk food on my cheat day. Stomach crunches will be started too.

Good luck everyone!!!!

I have no idea what to name the groups. I'm not good at naming stuff.

I would like to join the exercise group too. I didn't know there was one. I'm trying to exercise 5 times a week. Usually the weekdays and have the weekends off. Maybe I need to do exercise on one of the weekends too since that's when you want to pig out on food.

I already started reading the OT and the funny thing is. I'm going to Bible School at church and in one of my classes, we actually talked about Genesis chapter 1-3. Oh my. LOL And I had just read the chapter to myself like 10 minutes earlier. LOL
