"Might As Well Laugh About It Now"

My neighbor, who just happens to be Joe's grandma, and I did a book trade. She hadn't read Virl's book about Mother Osmond and I hadn't read Marie's new book. The Nielsens served a mission with George and Olive Osmond in Hawaii and were really good friends with them. My daughter, Michelle, married their grandson, Joe. Michelle remembers seeing a cute blond-haired guy next door cutting the Nielsen's lawn. Little did she know that he'd be her husband years later.

On the drive home from Vegas I read Marie's book and thoroughly enjoyed it! Wayne was driving and was a bit bugged in the beginning of the trip that I had my nose in the book, but soon got used to it. Marie is one amazing woman! I always knew that but this book just reconfirmed my opinion. Until reading the book I never realized how much she is like her mother - busy, busy, busy. My daughter, Amy, reminds me of both of them. It's all in the genes I guess!

The highlight of our trip to Vegas was Sunday evening, which we spent at Marie's beautiful home. She invited all her family that was in Vegas over to dinner with a couple of other friends, because I guess she didn't have enough to do that day. Ha! We all commented on what a long time it had been since we all had just sat around a table together, relaxed and enjoyed each other's company. It seems like we're always in a rush heading in different directions.

Marie played Jay, Wayne and I selections from her new CD that is coming out soon. Marie has such a beautiful voice! I always knew that she could sing since her first hit record "Paper Roses," but now she can REALLY seriously sing. You already know that if you've attended her show in Vegas. She is an incredible talent as well as an awesome sister! Thanks Marie for sharing your evening with us!

Talk about small world, Kathy. That is great..I'm glad Michelle got reconnected or fell in love with someone in the past.

I'm happy to hear Marie is doing okay, under the circumstances.

Oh, my god!! Kathy, I brought Marie's book last year, I couldn't not read it on the plane..it was hysterical..I was laughing so hard. I love the one about the GPS, and Wayne telling her that girls shouldn't put holes in their ears...Its one of the best book she wrote.

Now I can't wait for Wayne's book to come out.

How old was Marie when you first met Wayne?

Off to do the treadmill now. Keep up the good work with the blog!

Thank you for sharing the family moment with us, Kathy that was very nice. I loved Marie's book! I've never laughed outloud reading a book before hers! I want to read it again, it was written so honestly which makes us love her even more.
I also loved Virl's book about Olive, very insightful. Wish I'd have known her.

Family its so important. I met my husband 6 months after my and his best friend got married. They were in Cardston Alberta getting sealed to each other and I was there doing baptisms with the youth and getting my patricharal blessing. I walked around the corner of the Temple and literally ran into them. My husband and I were sealed at that same Temple 11 months after that run it. Life isn't is funny. Things some see a coincidence Heavely Father knows all along. The Plan...

I'm glad that Marie is doing as well as she can under the circumstances. I read her blog also and understandably she hasn't written anything and I was worried about her. Send her my regards.

Glad you had a chance to spend some time with Marie and the family. I loved Marie's book, she is such a warm and funny gal. No wonder Wayne nick-named her "Kissy." I would also like to read Virl's about Mother Osmond. Yes, they seem to be always, busy, busy. Don't know how Marie manages her doll sculpting and shows at QVC, Flamingo show, working on her new CD, etc. God Bless her.
