Time to Report - "Wonky's Book Worms"
Wayne and I just finished our reading for this week. Wayne commented on how important it is to obey all the commandments of God strictly. All these laws remind Wayne of a father that gives his children a lot of rules to follow. That is one of the reasons that they were called the CHILDREN of Israel because they couldn't think for themselves and had to have everything dictated to them. The Lord knew that when the people possessed the land which he had promised to give them that they would want to have a king like the other nations. He gave them instructions before they ever entered the promised land to make sure that the king was someone that the Lord chose from among them. The Lord wanted to make sure that their King would keep all the commandments so he instructed him to copy the law down so he would have his own personal scriptures. Being able to read the scriptures every day would help the King remember and keep the all the commandments of God and remain humble. He wasn't supposed to set himself above anyone else or take riches unto himself. I can apply this to my life by reading the scriptures daily so I won't forget the commandments that the Lord has given me to follow. I should never put myself above another because we are all special in the eyes of the Lord. If I have abundance I should be willing to share with those that do not. Are there lessons that you learned from your reading this week? We'd love you to share your insights with us. Next week we will be reading Deuteronomy Chapter 18 through Chapter 31.
