What kind of exercise is this lady doing in the picture? Has anyone tried it?
What are your exercise goals? Are they the same as in January or have you changed them? We'd love to have more join and participate! Set your own exercise goals and report in each week by posting to keep us informed on how you are doing.

Hi, Kathy! :)
Can we please see your cheerleading pictures? I tried out for Cheerleader; but, didn't make it. Instead, I made Lettergirl. Rah, rah, rah!!! What was your colors? Mine was royal blue and white with red lining.
I don't think I have any photos of me as a cheerleader. I know I don't in Branson for sure. Let's see your Lettergirl photos? In Jr. High I think they were black and white. In High School they were Red and Grey? Will they let us post photos on the comments?
Kathy
Were you a high school cheerleader in Murray Utah?
The girl in the picture is using a band to exercise. There is a more technical term for it I'm sure. You can buy them probably at Walmart or any sports store, some may even have a small workout booklet in with it. I've tried it, not a bad workout - great for if you have limited space. My goal is to try and walk at least a half hour everyday. With my dog you would think that would be easy HA! Also, I have a small workout for specific areas that I want to do at least 3 times a week. I kind of feel like I've started over a zillion times since January, but am having a hard time doing what I need to do. My plan has not really changed since then, my attitude is the only thing that keeps changing. Maybe with Branson in sight, I'll stay motivated!!!
Kathy, I've been doing water aerobics in my pool every day since May. Now that the weather has changed, I'll have to go back to my exercise bike. I love the pool so much more.
Kathy, you might check into the RecPlex down the road from Kohls etc. Connie has gone there. They have an indoor track & she thought a workout place. I bet they have classes too. I'm thinking of trying Curves but a friend told me I need bigger equipment like the Y.
've decided that even if I have to keep starting over and over again with diet and exercise that at least I'm not gaining more. Yo-Yoing is better than just gaining all the time. Right?
My daughter was working at Curves part-time so I almost joined before coming to Branson. It's pretty easy doing the equipment but you can set up a program that is more aggressive if you need or want more of a challenge. I just decided that right now when we're traveling I would probably use the Wii-Fit more.
I wasn't a cheerleader in High School but was involved in the drill team. We practiced even during the summer, before, during and after school. That was a good workout.
I like your attitude - I like the yo-yoing part. But remember, when we lose weight and then gain it back, we usually gain more back than we've lost - and then harder to lose - HAH!!! For me anyway that is how it is working. It took me 3 months to lose the weight I did - and only 2 weeks to gain it all back.
HA HA HA
Okay Kathy, I'm joining your group and am determined to lose 20 pounds....my daughter is getting married and that's going to be my motivation to shed the weight that's crept on over the last couple of years. My strategy is just to walk 30-45 minutes a day and follow a healthy eating regime. I've done it before so I know it works -- it's just staying motivated -- but I have Jenn's wedding date on my fridge and that's my motivation.....
Debbie that is what I did before my sons wedding. I had 6 months and I lost 50 pounds, pretty much just by walking and watching my calories. I was walking a minimum of 8 miles a day. It does work!! Good luck, you will look great!!!
Franki--O my goodness! Eight miles a day? Wow! Thats impressive. I'm walking 3 miles daily and thought that was really good. It takes me a half hour to walk 1 mile. I don't know where I can find the time to walk 8. Maybe 5 would be manageable. I will shoot for that.
We had a parking lot at my job that 3 laps around it was a mile. There were a bunch of us that would walk at break in the AM and PM, 3 laps-that took 15 minutes, and then at lunch we would do 6 laps. If you have people to walk with you sometimes it is more motivating. Then when I got home I'd go right away again, I had a goal in sight so it wasn't too hard to keep at it. Three miles is where I started, that's awesome!!! Keep it up girl!!!!
