Meet Hailey Anne!

Since Wayne and I arrived in California on Friday night we have been so busy that I haven't had time to post on the blog much the past few days. This is a photo of the beginning of our adventure to the grocery store yesterday when Jacob and Maia were still at school and mom and dad were at the hospital.

Hailey arrived early in the evening yesterday. Her brother and sisters couldn't wait to meet her so Wayne and I drove them to the labor and delivery room last night to visit. When Hailey was born she weighed 7 pounds, 1 ounce and was 19 inches long with dark hair. She's such a cute size and a beautiful baby!

Don't you think that Hailey looks a lot like her daddy!

Since it was Monday night, Maia offered to prepare and teach the family home evening lesson on gratitude at the hospital, which was outstanding. She even presented an object lesson and fun activity in which we all participated. This had to be one of the most special Family Home Evenings ever!

Jenny wasn't so sure what to think about Hailey. She seemed a little worried that Hailey was taking too much of mom's attention and maybe feeling like she was perhaps being replaced as mom's baby?

Hailey's brother and sisters all enjoyed taking a turn holding their new baby sister.

Lizzy seemed especially interested in Hailey.

Every Tuesday school is out early, so after Jacob and Maia got out of school, we went to pick up a few last minute items for Jacob at the store for his school camp out that starts tomorrow. He's really excited that the fifth grade is leaving in the morning for a three day, two night science camp. He'll be staying in cabins with his friends and doing a lot of hiking the next three days.

While at the store, the grandchildren each picked out a gift for Hailey, since she had given them all a gift at the hospital the night before. After dinner and fun at McDonald's we went back to the house and Wayne helped Jacob build 2 rockets. Jeff is going to help him launch them after Jacob returns from the science camp. Wayne and I will be in Vegas before Jacob returns. It's been a wonderful visit with such happy, special memories.

Welcome to the world, Hailey Anne. She is soo beautiful. I think she looks like Amy.

Pen. Actually I think Hailey was born on Monday. So no. She doesn't share a birthday with Justin. I guess she does since her birthday is a day before Justin and two days before her great uncle.

Congrats to Amy and Jeff. And of course the proud grandparents.

Thanks Kathy for sharing pictures of your latest grandchild. Have a safe trip to Vegas later on.

Congratulations to Jeff and Amy on their newest addition to the Cook household. What a great celebration and holding FHE in the hospital with the whole family. How exciting. We're having FHE this Friday with my grandson, who of late has decided family prayer is boring. So we have thought that this would be a nessasary lesson for him to be taught.
Then Saturday morning we're off to the church to help clean. The Bishop's wife just sent out a email asking if anyone was interested in having breakfast at the church prior to starting. What a great idea, we'll be bring a fruit platter with yougurt dip.

Congratulations to the new parents and grandparents. I was so happy to read that Amy had a healthy baby girl while you and Wayne are there (especially since Vegas is right around the corner).

It is so nice to see that you can bring in the other family (the kids) to see their new baby sister.

Thanks for sharing such a special moment.

Oh Kathy! Hailey is absolutely beautiful! I cried when I saw her photo! Of course Darren thinks I'm nuts for crying, but he thinks she's a beautiful baby too! We both think she looks like you though! Thanks for posting all the wonderful pics. I'm so happy that you & Wayne were able to spend choice time with your grandchildren. I just know they loved having you there as much as you enjoyed being there. Too bad you have to go to work in Vegas, huh? But, the show must go on, right? Thanks again for posting the photos & sharing! We are just so happy for you & Amy! She looks great after just giving birth! What a beautiful family Jeff & Amy have! I think it's wonderful too that they still had FHE. It must make you feel good knowing that all that you & Wayne taught your sweet family when they were young, still lives on in each of your children & now your grandchildren. What an amazing & special feeling! It must have filled both of your hearts with so much joy, they were overflowing! I know my heart was touched, just hearing about it! This is what life is truly about! PRICELESS!!!

Darren & I wish you & all of your family the best! You & Wayne travel safe. You are always near to us in our hearts, thoughts & prayers. Travel safe. Look forward to seeing you sometime soon.

Love,

Vicki
