Now that I don't have a house or yard to clean, I really need to get moving. Since I haven't done Wii Fit for so long I'm looking forward to starting up again here in Branson. This hula hoop exercise is really fun. Today Wayne and I went walking and plan on taking another evening walk when it gets a little cooler.
My goal is to keep moving and not sit in front of the computer for hours at a time. I'm going to exercise a minimum of 3 times a week for 45 minutes. Do you think it's easier to exercise in the spring than the winter? I can't hide behind my coats anymore. Ha! What are your exercise goals for the month of May? Who is ready to get in shape so we can pull out our swimming suit this summer?

I've lost all motivation to exercise & to lose weight. I'm up 9lbs & lately, if it's not nailed down, I'm eating it. I have to snap out of it and get out of this rut.
Hi Kathy,
You and another friend inspired me to get a Wii Fit, but I haven't used it yet. I'm thinking I might save it for Fall & Winter when I can't get out as much. We'll see. But, I have begun taking Aquafit classes at our local Aquatic Centre....and with the nicer weather, I've also been walking outdoors more often. It feels good to get moving again! I especially love being in the water...whether in one of my classes, or just doing a leisure swim. I used to swim a lot when I was younger, and it feels great to be getting back into it! For me, I think it's easier to exercise in the Spring & Summer, because in the late Fall I kind of go into "Hibernation Mode." And once the snow starts to fly, I don't like to go out as much. I'm not a Winter sport person. The nice thing about the Aquatic Centre, though, is that I can continue my swimming all year round...and in the colder months, I can add the Wii-Fit. I think the 3 times a week/45 mins. at a time thing is great! I'm slowly working my way up to 3-4 times a week for an hour each time...but I'm not quite there yet. Anyway, congrats to you & everyone else for all our efforts to be healthy! YAY US!!!! :o) Have fun in Branson, Kathy! Hugs to you & Wayne!!! OXOXO
Hiya!
I thought exercise would be easier when the weather warmed up and one could take a walk without being really cold. Now I'm not so sure. It was fun walking through the snow and playing "fetch the snowball" with the puppy. Now it's warm and I don't want to take a walk and get all overheated and sweaty. However, there are other reasons to talk a walk such as with my "buddy" Red the push mower!
I am moving in a few weeks and expert I will be doing more exercise then (walking the dog, checking out the recreational opportunities in the new town, etc). So no formal exercise plans until I get settled and see how things are.
Have fun in Branson! It looks like a neat place.

Wii Fit is so much fun.I gained a lot of weight working up to the recent end of my marriage. But I have turned to exercise and going back to school.I worked many years in Deaf Ed. and now I am going to try the medical field. In two months I have lost thirty pounds and counting.I know school, studing, church, exercise will all help me meet my goal. Also moving back to utah to go back to school is so exciting to think about. It is such a wonderful place to be.How can you not want to spend time outside keeping yourself moving!I also plan on continueing reading the bible with you all. I have to say that I have not read the whole bible sense I went to school in Rexburg Idaho. And that was in the mid 80s. Oh NO! MY AGE IS SHOWING!HA! Thank you and your loving husband for the great example of true love and working together as eternal helpmates to each other.
Ok, this 3 times a week and 45 minutes sounds realistic, I think I can do that with you Kathy. Mine will probably be all walking the dog right now but hey that is exercise. I started again today with watching the calories, that should help. Started anew job 3 weeks ago and had to get into the swing of the schedule - so I'm ready to start losing again!!
I get loads of exercise from walking the large facility that I work in. I still find it very hard to lose weight. I'm hoping that now it's finally warming up here in Indiana, I can do more walking outside on my work breaks. If I don't lose any weight, I should still tone some. :)
I can just imagine the pioneers laughing if they were told that in the future we'd have to plan exercise activities because we weren't getting enough in our everyday living. I've found that I use different muscles doing yard work and deep cleaning than doing the Wii Fit or walking. I just need to keep moving and if all I feel like doing is walking around the indoor mall or Walmart it's still better than nothing. It's a lot easier for me to just sit in front of my computer, so I have to make an effort to keep moving even if I really don't want to.
Well I can honestly say I've gained a lot of weight since March. I'm still wearing the CAM boot on and off for my broken foot and hopefully will get rid of it once and for all next week. It's been the pits - but getting a lot of cross-stitching done, playing on the computer, etc.
I can't wait to start walking again. I'll have to start out slowly until my foot, ankle, leg regain their strength. Still limping when I walk.
So, onward and upward I say. I'm tired of being cooped up in the house and can't wait to get outside (now to get the weather to cooperate).
