Come Take a Walk With Me

Click to play this Smilebox slideshow

What do you like to do when you visit Branson? Where is a really good place to stay in Branson? Where do you like to eat in Branson? What shows should I see when I'm in Branson?

These are questions that I get asked all the time and I really don't know how to answer them. I haven't eaten at every restaurant, gone to every show or stayed in every hotel. Please tell me what your favorites are when you visit Branson and what not to miss, so I can pass the word along.

Thank you!

I think I did a lot of things this past week in Branson.

I definitely recommend the Six show. They will blow your mind. I saw them for the first time last Saturday. Its amazing what comes out of their mouths. They are right across the street from where the brothers are playing at the Hughes Brothers Theatre

I enjoyed the Titanic. It tells you back to that day. There's a different section in the museum where you learn about the history or what's story behind the display. I enjoyed it. They give you a card that has a name of one of a people on the ship. At the end of the tour, you find out if you lived or dead. The person I had lived. It was an interesting museum.

I stayed at Seven Gables, Branson Inn and Dutton Inn. I enjoyed staying at Dutton Inn this past week. The person were soo friendly and I loved the room.

Restaurants. I loved Hard Luck restaurant at the Grand Village. I went there in 2009. I didn't get to go there this year. I love the singing waiters and waitresses. The food was great. A warning though. This place is loud. So its going to be a little noisy.

A few of friends of mine went Lamberts in Ozarks. Its about 30 minutes away heading toward Springfield. The food is great. This restaurant is known for the waiters throwing rolls at you. Their rolls are very good. I recommend Lamberts'.

I've only been to Branson once, so I don't know anything compared to all of you that go there all the time. We ate at a couple of the resturants that you showed in your Smile Box show, I recognized them. Only one show that I saw when I was there, it was a good one!!!!!

However, my husband and I want to go to the rodeo show - used to know the name of it right after we came back last year, can't think of it now. Also, there were a couple of places that had Christmas type shows that he said we should go to.

Sorry I wasn't much help, only had a few days when I came down and accomplished my mission. Got my books signed, talked to 3 of the 4 brothers, got a picture taken with them, met you and left. Next time I will spend more time there!!!

I love going to Bonniebrook, the home of Kewpie creator Rose O'Neill. Such a peaceful place.

Such cute and folksy places in Branson! I've never been there, but I'm sure I'd like it. Thanks for the tour, Kathy, and I love your new autumn look! ~ Diane P.

I don't know how people spam a blog but they are usually selling products. As for any mean, rude and inappropriate comments, they are always anonymous. I didn't have one problem when I only let followers post comments. You're all too nice!

I absolutely LOVE my little hometown of Branson! My favorite places to eat -- one of them is in Grand Village. That's Sugar Leaf Bakery & Cafe`! They have the best BLT in the history of BLT's! LOL!!! It's on a fresh tomato basil bread, and is made with an applewood smoked bacon and is just delightful!! If you like BBQ, head to Famous Dave's on the Landing. For Mexican, I like La Iguana for a more casual spot -- sort of similar to Chipotle; Casa Fuentes, which is on the Strip, is good. And they have live music some nights. Or check out Cantina Laredo at the Landing for a bit more upscale Mexican. Billy Bob's, also on the Strip, just 2 doors down from the Music City Center, can't be beat for hamburgers!

Franki, the place you're thinking of is Dixie Stampede.

Shows? My favorites are the Osmonds (duh!), SIX, Bill Medley, The Rankin Brothers and all of the shows at the Branson Variety Theatre -- Hooray for Hollywood, Shake Rattle & Roll and The Twelve Irish Tenors!

Obviously I don't need a hotel any more in Branson...not for myself. But my family has stayed a number of times at The Dutton Inn. If you like Condos, try Willow Ridge by Marriott.

I was just reading the blog about places to go in Branson, things to do etc. We love Sugar Leaf Cafe in Grand Village...best BLT in town, also they offer so much more. Country Barn is a nice place to go and look at the view. Billy Bob's has one of the best burgers in town, love the atmosphere..also they have that swirled chocolate/vanilla ice cream.

We also love to go over the dam and as you cross it, on the left there is a small place to park and look out over the dam. It was amazing to us in May with all the flood gates open..amazing.

Also love to walk around Silver Dollar City. Enjoy the crafters there.

This trip we went to College of the Ozarks, it was wonderful to visit, they made jellies and jams there. Have a bakery in the Keeter Center and they have the restaurant there too...wonderful.

To ConnieBranson, YES!!! That's what I was thinking of. Have you see the show there, is it good? I mean really as far as shows are concerned the Osmonds are my favorite, a big ditto on the Duh!! Hubby does want to go to others.

Franki, yes the Dixie Stampede is good. It's very different from a regular show in Branson. Good food and a show all at once. The show is more along the lines of an old-west/rodeo type of show. But it's fun!

I love living here! Sugar Leaf is my all time favorite place to eat. I always take out of town guests there. My favorite is the Ultimate BLT it is the best. They have fresh soups, the best grill cheese I’ve ever eaten and of course desserts. I love the new Mexican Restaurant in town Tequila's 2, they have awesome food at very reasonable prices. I like Clockers Cafe downtown, they offer some light choices and have the best Turkey Burgers on Pretzel Bread. There are probably so many more but those are my favorites.
