CLICK HERE to read the Book of Mormon in English. To read in a different language, click on the same link and then go to the very top right hand of the page on the blue boarder and you will see the word LANGUAGES. Click on your native language to read and listen to the Book of Mormon.

There are also other options you can choose from to listen, print, or download the Book of Mormon on each chapter next to the text.  Having someone else read the book to you while you follow along is really helpful if you aren't familiar with the pronunciations of the names in the Book of Mormon. I'm excited to go through the Book of Mormon with someone reading it to me so I will learn how to pronounce all the words correctly.

Wayne and I are excited to start reading the Book of Mormon on Sunday, New Years Day. We hope many of you will read along with us. Some of you who aren't members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints seem nervous or hesitant to read the Book of Mormon but you will soon find that there is a special spirit that you will feel when you are reading the Book of Mormon just like you feel when reading the bible.

Please post a comment if you are going to participate and email us at wonkthedonk@gmail.com for any private concerns or doctrinal questions.

Happy New Year!!!

Hi again, Kathy -- Quick question: for Mosiah, do you mean to end study of that chapter in May? And then for Alma, begin study in May? Thanks again! Happy 2012! Pat

I changed the date we finish reading Mosiah and begin reading Alma so hopefully this schedule is correct now. Thanks Pat for pointing out that there was a problem.

I got my Book of Mormon (from Jay or Terri) a couple of months ago in anticipation of reading it with you. I've already read the first part as you suggested and am very anxious to begin as there is so much I want to know. Thank you Kathy!

I've been looking forward to doing this with you. It's been awhile since I've read the Book of Mormon entirely. I still remember the first time I read it, 37 years ago, and how I couldn't put it down.

I'll give it a try too. I've read it 4 times before & enjoyed it very much. Thanks for the schedule that helps knowing ahead of time. I have an app on my ITouch for the Book of Mormon so that way I can stay with you during the day at work. I'm anxious to hear how it's going to touch us when we all read it.

I will be joining the group and can't wait for this to begin. 2012 might actually be the year I completely read The Book of Mormon! So looking forward to this!

I'm reading it this year by following the Sunday school reading assignment/schedule.

I found a brilliant chart to fill in for reading the scriptures every day in 2012. I'll send you the link if you want.

I have a very strong testimony of The Book of Mormon & know that it is the word of God. I know that we will each be blessed with reading it.

Some parts are more difficult to understand than others, but this time I'm just going to be dilligent in reading it.

I will give it a try, Kathy. I tried to read it once and I was lost. Maybe a little help others, I can understand it more.

I'm up for the challenge Kathy. Started today. Happy new year!

Every year we attempt this and then it falls by the wayside. After sitting down today after church and discussing it again we came to the conclusion that we never really "set" a committed time to do this. We don't go to bed at the same time, so that wasn't going to work. I'm pretty flexible otherwise so Andy made the sacrifice that he wouldn't sit down to watch TV (actually Netflix Star Trek episodes) after work (he works from home) until we had read the scriptures. So we're done for today, because he REALLY wanted to turn on the TV. LOL Whatever works.

Kathy, I am one who is a little nervous to read the book of mormon, I have been southern baptist all my life. I am genuinely interested in reading, so I am going to give it a try. I will keep you posted on my progress. Marty

I'm going to give this a try along with reading a chapter from the old and new testaments too. I've never read the Book of Mormon although I've had one for years. I'm up to day 6. I don't know how long this will last though.
