Wayne has been so surprised to see all the support he has been given - all your thoughts, prayers, cards, and gifts, etc. He was really touched that many of you have been dressing in orange for the concerts and/or worn badges to remember him. Josie sent me this photo of the badges they have been wearing in the UK to the Brothers' concerts.
Many people have also asked for an update on Wayne's condition, so I can help with that request. The past 54 years in show business has given Wayne so many wonderful memories and opportunities that he would not have experienced in any other profession. Wayne loves change and learning new things, so show business has been really fulfilling. Of course there have been difficult, exhausting and challenging times too, but only through show business could we have learned from these experiences. We want you to know that we realize that it is only because of you and your support over the years that have made all this possible. Thank you so much!
Most of the medical problems that Wayne has are probably related to the maximum amount of radiation that he had after brain cancer surgery and he will continue to have more long term effects. On January 17th when he fell and hit his head really hard on the couch in the same place as where he had his brain cancer surgery and radiation, we weren't that alarmed. Michelle and I tried to talk him into letting us take him down to the emergency room at the hospital because his head and neck hurt, but he insisted that he was O.K. and wanted to wait to see how he felt the next day.
The following day he had an appointment already set up with his ear, nose and throat doctor to have his ears cleaned. Since the radiation, there has been a build up on his ear drums that the doctor has had to pull off regularly to improve his hearing. Wayne was nauseated and insisted that the doctor not get too close because he said that he had the flu. He complained about pressure and pain in his head and was carrying a bowl in case he couldn't keep his food down. I told the doctor that I wasn't sure that he had the flu and the doctor must have agreed because he ordered a scan to see if Wayne's sinus' were infected or if something would show up to help explain the symptoms he was experiencing.
Wayne's symptoms were exactly the same as he had right before he had his brain cancer removed, so we were a little nervous about a reoccurring tumor, which isn't that unusual to grow 10 to 15 years after having radiation to the head. The doctor scheduled an MRI for the following day. I was really surprised when the doctor called later that evening to say that there was evidence of a possible stroke and to take him immediately to the emergency room. That thought hadn't even occurred to me.
The neurologist on call at the hospital that night suggested that his mini stroke was related to the fall that he had and that he probably ripped the lining of his left back posterior artery. There is no way to know which came first - the fall or the stroke. There also isn't any way to test whether the lining of the artery, which was totally blocked, was torn or severely damaged. It's also too dangerous to operate but the body has a way of healing itself so that is why Wayne is taking it easy for at least another month. The mini stroke turned into a major stroke a couple of days later after Wayne sat up in bed at the hospital. At this time his problems were magnified, but he has been improving since that day.
Many of you may have noticed since 2005 that it was necessary for someone to travel with Wayne all the time because of his gradual hearing loss, cognitive deficiencies, and equilibrium problems. His hearing is now severe in both ears, he has short-term memory loss, difficulty learning new material, and falls backwards when moving around, etc. His brothers made it possible for him to continue working by gesturing when his singing went off pitch or covering his singing, using songs and material that were in his long term memory and helping him if he got off balance, etc. The past 3 years Wayne had had to catch himself when he got off balance by putting his left foot behind him. It has been very stressful for him to continue performing when he has also been dealing with so many health problems that have only been getting progressively worse.
Many have noticed and asked why Wayne's photo has been taken off of the scheduled dates on the Osmond Brothers website for the rest of the year. Wayne is unable to continue working and performing. He's using a cane to catch himself to make sure that he doesn't have another debilitating fall. The end of April, the doctor wants to do another MRI to see how his healing is coming and re-evaluate his situation. I've been taking care of all the business and personal responsibilities and driving Wayne to all his various medical appointments. Wayne wants to visit Sears and other stores that carry tools almost every day too. Ha! For another month, Wayne's making sure that he heals and doesn't have another fall by mostly laying on the couch in the family room and playing with his Ipad or doing crossword puzzles. He's loving the Ipad now that he has had plenty of time to get acquainted with it. Wayne's very upbeat and loves all his time to relax. He's enjoying life.

I'm really sorry to read of Waynes health problems,I wish you well, and I hope from the bottom of my heart that you go on making a recovery. My mother had a very bad stroke when she was 57, I see the impact it has had on her life, and the sheer frustration it has caused. So Wayne you need to listen to Kathy, get plenty of rest, enjoy your family and grandchildren, and take each day as it comes. take care Glenda

So very sorry to hear of waynes health issues.....he is in my prayers Kathy....saw the the Osmonds in concert last night in Ipswich and the meet and greet....said a big thankyou to them s the Osmonds were my missionaries ...I was baptized at sixteen in '75 after investigating the church for a year and after I gained a testimony.....I married in the Temple, have seven children, five sons and two daughters and fourteen grandchildren all active and four of the five sons served missions one currently and my youngest is waiting to go.....apart from wonderful music and memories, I have so much more to be grateful to them for.....as I thanked his brothers at the meet and greet, could you thank Wayne on my behalf Kathy please? Tell him to rest, and rest and rest!! We love him! x
Wayne and Kathy,
I have been a fan for many years and am praying for you both during this time. The blessings and joy that I have received over the years from Wayne, his music, jokes, and the smile are too numerous to mention.
Thank you, Kathy, for supporting him in what he has done all these years so that we could all share in who Wayne is. Bless you in walking this road with him as well.
I pray that Wayne heals quickly and that the two of you can enjoy many many more years of joy together. God Bless You both!

Thank you Kathy for your up-date. Good luck and strength..... One day he wants to become a very old man one day. So carefull with him!
Thank you for taking the time to share this. It really means so much to all of us. Please know that you are in my prayers. Warm hugs, Donna J. Dingwall from Calgary, CANADA
So sorry to read all about Wayne's declining health situation. I've kinda been keepin' tabs - I'll be lifting him & you up in prayer. God Bless you all! It's esp hard for the caretaker, so take good care of yourself Kathy! {{{HHHUUGGSS!!!}}}}
AWW Kathy - thanks for letting us all be up to date with the exact medical facts - helps us in prayer for our dear sweet Wayne and you and family better. Our Lord will be in the wonderful care and healing of our loved one and let him know that we will certainly be missing him very much while he is recovering and though we miss him, we only want the best for him. I am so glad I got his first big hug off stage in Findlay Ohio last Christmas - I may have given my last hug to Merrill and Wayne that night who knows (what a sad thought that can bring tears to the eyes!) I know it will be stressful to you trying to keep this good man down to recover and stay away from the tools, but his carpentry will have to wait - remind him that he also has to have fingers to play with the Ipad, computers and such! Know that while you are taking this much needed recovery time with family and such that you will never, ever be far from all of our thoughts and prayers and if there are more shows in the future so be it - but the good thing here is you can still be online with us - and really that is rewarding also. So take care, do what the DOCTOR and Nurse Kathy order Good Buddy Wayne!!! and get better for us soon! We love you very much! God be with you till we meet again! And trust me, it will be sooner than you think!
My very best wishes to you both, my thoughts are with you and your family. Wayne is obviously in very good hands and I wish him a continued recovery. He was greatly missed at last night's concert.
Thankyou Kathy for the news on Wayne. I do hope he improves and he is lucky to have such a wonderful wife and supportive family. I was fortunate to see the brothers in Vegas recently but my thoughts were often with Wayne. Take care and give him my special wishes.
Regards Jenny from Australia.

Hi Kathy and Wayne: Thank you for such a wonderful update. We miss seeing both of you out here in "fanland" but we had no idea Wayne had been pushing through for so long now. We are so glad that you are home now, Wonky, and putting yourself first.
There are advantages to being "retired" - all the ice cream you can eat, anytime you want it; time to read and learn more bad jokes; a chance to stop and smell those roses you've been eyeing as you raced to some appointment.
We'll stay in touch through our cards, letters, emails, blogs, etc. You are never out of our thoughts and prayers, and heck, I've even learned to like wearing orange. Love you both, Sandra
I went to see the Osmonds at Guildford last week, missed seeing Wayned, but his health comes first. But I have been reading the jokes he leaves on Facebook, they do make me laugh, get well soon Wayne. And thankyou for all the years of your music.

ecommous KamtKathy,
It's hard to imagine the Brothers without Wayne by their side, but right now it is more important that he heals. I will continue to pray for you both and hope that the healing he needs takes place. We all missed him in Vegas and I know they are missing him in the UK as well. Thank you so much for keeping us informed on his progress. He has brought us so much happiness over the years, so please let him know that he is missed and loved, as are you :)
Kathy,
Thank you so much for updating us on Wayne. I had no idea he's been having so much trouble performing, even since 2005! Although I will miss him terribly, I am glad that he has made what I think is the wisest choice...the only choice, really. Please let him know that I am continuing to keep him (& you) in my prayers everyday....and please give him a hug from me! Please tell him THANK YOU for bringing so much joy to my life! And please tell him I love him! I love you, too, Kathy...and I am so grateful that you take the time to keep in touch with us, and let us know how Wayne is doing. I know you are super busy, but when you have the time, please continue to keep in touch. HUGS to you, too, Kathy! Love you both bunches!!!!
Wendy S. OXOXO
You should hear the cheers when Wayne sings and they show him on "Remember Me" then Kathy. we miss him on the tour but understand and want him to be well
Sorry to hear about Wayne not performing anymore and he will be surely missed. He needs to take care of himself and just enjoy a relaxing life. Kathy you are the best and Wayne is one lucky guy to have such a wonderful wife. All my love and hugs, Liz
I guess the blessing in all of this is that he gets to spend more time with the kids and grandkids. Wishing you(both of you) all the best and continued healing for Wayne( one of the big brothers I never had.) Thanks for all the years of entertaining us, Wayne and to you, Kathy, and the kids for sharing him with us. Please keep us updated on things and know you are both in my thoughts and prayers. Wayne has been such a talented, funny and endearing member of the group. I'm genuinely sorry to hear of his spell of ill health. I'm sure it must be a very difficult time for you all and am glad to know you take strength from all the fans good wishes. I truly hope Wayne makes a good recovery. Thoughts are with you. regards

Kathy, thank you so much for the update on Wayne. I totally understand as my husband also had brain cancer. though his was a Glioblastoma and had different prognosis, the progression and symptoms are all very similar to what you are experiencing with Wayne. Know that you are both in my prayers daily. I am so proud of you Kathy, when I hear how you are so loving and supportive to him in these tough days. I loved my husband as well and it is the only way you and I know how to be. I so understand. Hang in there. He is blessed to have you. Wayne, One day at a time. Take good care of yourself. This is what is most important to all of your friends and your fans. We would rather hear updates and know how things are going, than to worry about your touring. We love the person, not just the performer. This is your time for you and your family. Know that you are always there in spirit performing with your brothers, we all know that. Your presence remains in our hearts as we watch and listen to them sing. You are very part of the moment, trust me. My thoughts are with you both as you go through this portion of your lives. Love each other and enjoy every moment. Put each other and your family first. This is what matters most: Have faith in God as he allows all things for us. Peace be still and know that he is God. Things in life change all of the time. Each part of life is different. Be who you are meant to be at this stage of the game. We all love you Wayne. And Kathy, you are an amazing woman. Never doubt that your strength is spirit filled and that you can do this. I send you both hugs from my heart to yours.

Hi Kathy,
Thanks so much for the detailed information about what Wayne has been going through. He has been such a wonderful part of our lives for so many years...we could never thank him enough. Prayers for him that he will be able to enjoy his family and grandchildren for many more years to come. You take care of yourself too. Being a caregiver is very exhausting, consuming and overwhelming. (I can relate). Take time for you.
Love and Prayers...Kathy in San Jose, CA
Kathy, Thank you so much for the update. We know he is in good hands (yours and our heavenly Father's) and I will continue to keep you both in my prayers. Michelle Irons
Thank you for sharing so much with us Kathy.
Wayne was a huge miss in Vegas this month and I'm sure the Uk are missing him too, but his health comes first. Wayne, yourself and the family have given so much happiness to so many people all over the World, now it's time for us to show our gratitude by keeping you both in our thoughts and prayers.
We love you both! Look after our funny guy, and yourself too and let him know we love him and wish him well x
Kathy,
Thank you so much for the update on Wayne. So sorry to hear of his health problems but I totally understand as I too am a stroke pt. I've been a fan and follower of the family since the 70's and feel like y'all are an extended part of mine. Wayne needs to think of himself right now and do what's best for him and what the Dr ordered. I know the stress you must be under too as a caretaker. I'm in that position with my Mom right now it's so stressful. I wish for you both health and happiness and peace to your lives. You've both earned the rest please take care. Tammy
I am so sorry Wayne has to go through all of this, but so thankful he has you beside him. Hes one strong cookie and still has humor! Thanks for the update Kathy, Big hugs to you both!

so glad that you are taking such brilliant care of Wayne - he is missed over here in the UK but his health is far more important. Wayne have a speedy recovery and enjoy your well earned retirement xxx
Thanks for the update, Kathy.
I know it probably was a difficult decision for Wayne to stop something he loved to do for so many years, but we understand you guys decision at this time.
We've been worrying about Wayne since we heard of his fall and then Jimmy telling us he had a stroke in an interview.
We're going to miss Wayne and seeing you at the concert. I enjoyed the friendship with you two these past 3 years. You and Wayne were the first people I met in Branson in 2009 and every time Wayne sees me, he always remembered my name. And he was my Scrabble buddy. I miss playing Scrabble with him.
I will miss seeing you guys in Branson in October.
I will continue to pray for Wayne and I pray that one day he will better and perform with his brothers in the future.
We love you guys.
Love and prayers to Wayne. Missed him at the Ipswich concert last night from Christine x
Kathy, thank you so much for updating us on how Wayne is doing. Everyone has been waiting anxiously to know he is as he is loved very much. While I am of course sad that he won't be able to perform again, I know that this is necessary and hope he recovers quickly. Wayne enjoy the rest and time with your family you deserve it after all you have given to your fans. Much love to you all, Tania xx
Praying for both you and Wayne.
God Bless you both...Wayne for his determination and positive approach to life after all that has been thrown at him in terms of health problems, and to you Kathy for your strength in keeping everything and everyone going. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Take care both.
Thank you so much for the update Kathy, you are both in my thoughts. Wayne has brought so much pleasure to me over the years with his performing and I thank him so much for that. I'm so sorry that he won't be able to perform, but it is so much more important that he heals. Please give my love to him and also consider yourself hugged tightly as you both adjust to your new life. With all my love and prayers,

You two have been a blessing to so many people over the years, thank you for that!!! I am so glad I got to meet you and visit for a while.
The color orange will take on new meaning for me now, I will think of Wayne every time I wear it. Let him know that he is loved and cherished, as are you. Love you both so very much!!!
Thanks for the update Kathy. Holding yourself and Wayne in my prayers. I hope that Wayne's health improves. Much love xx
Dear Kathy,
Thank you very much for the update on Wayne. Of course, we have all been worried about him, and I'm sure most of us have been praying for him as well.
I hope you are having help to manage, too.
You two are extra-special people.

Thank you Kathy for shareing. Wayne has always been my fav Osmond! You two have given so much to the fans - made us smile, sing along, scream, and laugh! I hope and pray for Wayne to have a speedy recovery and for you to get the rest you need to keep a step ahead of him. You both have sacrificed so much for us fans - we will always have our memories. Now it is time for you two to take care of yourselves and enjoy your grandkids more! That does not mean we will still be looking for your's and Wayne's posts and those great pictures you always share. I love Wayne and wish him the very best. I can't believe he'll no longer be a part of the group. I can't believe the era of "The Osmonds" as we knew it back in the 70's has come to an end. It's really heartbreaking. I wish we could turn back time and then freeze it. I'd live that part of my life over again in a heartbeat. I love you Wayne and will keep you in my prayers. Please get well soon and stay happy and healthy. Hugs & God bless you.
Kathy,
Thank you so much for the update on Wayne. It is so sad that he can't sing with his brother's as of now. But in due time, I am certain he will be back with them again.
I will continue to keep him and you in my prayers. I know this has to be a difficult job for you having to take care of everything.
Just hang in there things will get better. As you know it could be worse too.
Hugs from KY
So glad Wayne is improving...praying that Heavenly Father will not only bless his health but bless you also as you attend to him. Love, Marie Roberts, Tennessee

Hi Kathy,
You did a wonderful job explaining everything that has been going on! I am proud of you! You KNOW how sorry Darren & I are that any of this had to happen, but we are so happy that Wayne is still here with you, your children, grandchildren & all of us who love you both! Like I have told you, you are in Darren, the kids & my prayers EVERY day. We keep you names on the prayer roll & are still fasting & praying for you. There are many in this world who have you in their hearts, thoughts & prayers. There is power in prayer. We have reached out & asked for prayers & fasting on your behalf. Even in our ward. We know that Heavenly Father is watching over you both. Remember that we are here for you ANY TIME you need us for ANYTHING! You are such a good wife Kathy, & are doing an amazing job taking care of your husband & everything else that is going on. He is so blessed to have you, just as you are to have him. Thanks for your friendship. I personally don't kow what I'd do without you! You continue to inspire me & lift my spirits daily. Darren & I love & look up to you & Wayne. May the Lord continue to keep you in His care is our prayer. We are so looking forward to seeing you. We are praying for miracles! Love Always, Vicki & Darren
Thank you so much Kathy for sharing the update, but most of all thank you for sharing Wayne with all of us. My family for over 45 years watched and attended shows for our family vacations. We as a family thank you for sharing him and we pray that our Heavenly Father will hold him close during his recovery. May he have many more years to enjoy you and his grandchild. Thank you again and Thank You Wayne for the many years of memories you made for me and my family.
Thank you for the information on Wayne, my mother had a mini stroke at the end of last year and is experiencing some of the things you have described about Wayne. It is very hard to see your loved one change over a short period of time, just remember you need to look after yourself too. take care Sally Osmond
I am very happy he is doing better. Wayne was always my favorite back in the day. My prayer's are with him and I'm sure he's getting plenty of Priesthood blessings. Give him my love. Ann Matthews
Sending HUGS to you both Kathy- You just look after your man & tell him to get well quickly- I am so grateful that I have his music in my life but more than that that he & his family were happy to share their lives with us! Because of that sharing I have the gospel in my life that gives me the comfort of knowing that my angel grandaughter is waiting for us to join her especially today which is her 18 month angelversary & Monday will be 18 months since she was born sleeping- so Kathy thankyou for sharing your man with us- & Wayne thankyou for sharing the gospel.
I'm sorry. Thank you for the update. I will keep you, Wayne, and your family in my prayers.
Thanks SO MUCH for the update, Kathy. Just want to let you know that both you and Wayne have been in my prayers for a while now, and will continue to be. What is most important is his health and well-being. Give him a hug from Gina in Chicago. ALL my love and all the BEST to both of you.
Thank you for sharing the update with us! I am so sorry for what Wayne, you, and the family are going through! It saddens me to know that Wayne and you have these struggles/obstacles; and, wish you all only good health and happiness -- always!! The strength and positive outlook that both you and Wayne have are touching and admirable!! You are all in my thoughts, heart, and prayers -- always!! xo ♥ (((HUGS)))
Wayne needs to take care of himself..His health comes first. Yes, its sad he's not preforming with his brothers, but at the end his health is more important. And I think his fans, who been loving him and his family for years should, and need to understand that he needs to take care of himself.
If he choose NOT to do this anymore, Kathy..saying IF...I understand completely. Just tell him to rest up and that we love him.
And tell him to keep the jokes coming.
Kathy just make sure you give Mr.wayne a big hug from all of us.While we miss him dearly his health is so much more important!!.God blees you both and I will keep you both in my prYERS.
Wayne get better and enjoy life. Thank you for all of the great memories. My life would have been pretty dull if it weren't for the Osmonds. Judi P
Dear Kathy and Wayne,
Thank you so much for your wonderful letter.
I am so sorry to hear of the medical issues but completely understand - Wayne's health MUST come first.
Wayne - thank you for so many, many years of entertainment and inspiration. Thank you also for giving it that "Osmond effort" of the show must go on - but now it is YOUR time. You have more than earned it.
I am continuing to keep you guys in my prayers.
Nothing but the best for both of you - you more than deserve it.
Much love to you both.
Sue
Hugs to dear sweet Wayne! Thanks Kathy for the update.
I suffered a stroke at work and I know from my neurologist that loss of balance is a BIG symptom of a stroke, so he may have had a stroke or mini-strokes previously. I couldn't balance for several months, but now I am fine. I just have to take medication.
My thoughts and prayers are with Wayne and your entire family! Tell him to enjoy his Ipad, going to the hardware store to look at tools, and just spend his time getting well.
Love,

Thanks for sharing all this Kathy. While on one hand, this all simply breaks my heart, because I like so many, love Wayne. But on the other hand, he has given so much to all of us throughout the years, and his health and well being are what's important right now. I have been so blessed to meet Wayne, Jay, Merill, and Jimmy just last year in Franklin NC....it was the biggest thrill of my life! Thoughts and prayers for Wayne and all the Osmonds. Life is too short, so tell Wayne to just sit back, relax and enjoy each day doing what he loves. You are a sweet woman Kathy. God knew exactly what He was doing when he crossed your paths. Much love
Thank you for updating us re Wayne. I'm sorry he has these problems, but being a member of the church know that Heavenly Father has a plan for all of us and that we need to have complete faith and trust in him. I also wore Orange nail polish to the concert in Croydon and saw many other in Orange too. Now he can spen time with is kids and gran kids.
Kathy,
Is there any way I can send Wayne an email either to him or through you? He has had a major impact on my life and I've always wanted to share that with him. I can be reached at jeanallen@ me.com.
Thanks for the updates! They mean the world to me!

Thank you for the update Kathy as I honestly had no idea of all Wayne's health issues! I hope he continues to take good care of himself and of course it sounds like you are doing a wonderful job of caring for him, but take care of yourself as well!! I am always so grateful that Wayne survived the brain tumor as I lost my mother to one in 1990. I will pray for your family!!

Wayne, you are in my prayers.
You are an amazing woman Kathy Osmond! All of us Osmondmaniacs clamor for information on the Osmonds, and you are so thoughtful and generous with sharing. And could Wayne be loved any more by his fans? I don't think so. I'm sending a cyber-hug to both of you.
Karen
Thank you, Kathy, for keeping us informed on Wayne's health. The Osmonds have always been more like family then celebrities to me. I've met Wayne more than on one occasion and he's just the nicest guy (even with his crazy jokes. LOL). I wish Wayne the best and I wish you lots of love and courage as you continue on as his caregiver. Make time for yourself when you can. Your a wonderful wife to Wayne and all the Osmond fans love you!
hi kathy and wayne i just wanted to tell you that you are in our prayers here in michigan, God made us a promise and that promise he tells us everyday, i know he is carrying both of you and your family right now. it is hard seeing someone you love go through an illness of any kind, wayne and his brother alan are inspirations to those arround them by walking and working their faith in their lives. I was able to personally handle my cancer, thanks to heavenly father and knowing he is close. i pray each day for you all. and i know that wheather wayne is on the stage or off he will always be a performing osmond in my mind. Wayne & Kathy! My thoughts and prayers continue to be with you! Wayne, you have give me such joy and pleasure over the years! Not just onstage but offstage as well. I remember so well your concern when I was going to have surgery a few years ago. It was then that I knew ours was a true friendship. I have so enjoyed getting to know you -- and Kathy -- over the last several years here in Branson! Those times will be treasured forever! But more than anything, I want to thank you for being faithful to live the Gospel in front of us for all these years. You and your dear family were not only my "first Missionaries", you have been a shining example of living by faith. Please know that I will always love you, and will always treasure our friendship!! And who knows -- one of these days I may just have to make a trip to Utah and drop in to see you guys!! I've already gone far too long without seeing you!
Love you both!!
ConnieBranson
p.s. I love knowing that I was the first for whom you told "Connie Connie in the tub, Connie forgot to use the plug; Oh my goodness, oh my soul - there goes Connie down the hole!" LOL!!!
Wow, I was so surprised to read this. I hadn't heard that Wayne was sick. My thoughts and prayers are with Wayne and his entire family. May God continue to help him heal.
I was sorry to hear of Wayne's health problems. My thoughts and prayers are with you both during this time, and the rest of the Osmond family as well. God bless you both.
Wishing Wayne a speedy recovery!!!!!!!!!I've had the privilege of meeting and talking to Wayne a few times over the years and he always was so kind, warm and friendly.
My in-laws both had strokes within four days of each other around Christmas and I know it can be frustrating at times when your body won't do what you want it to do!
Take care, Dorothy West
Sending prayers your way and to let you know I have started a group on facebook titled: Get Well Wishes for Wayne (Osmond) where fans may go and post get well wishes to him. I have added him to the group so that you and Wayne can go and view them.

I am so thankful for the Osmonds sharing their lives and talent with the world. You, Wayne and the entire family are in my prayers. Jananne
Sending all my love filled with prayers to you and your beautiful family. It is a bitter sweet time for all of us. It is hard to say goodbye to "the best thing that ever happened to me(us)". Life was so much easier after being with an Osmond.....you had such an uplifting effect on us....and took time to talk with us and listen when you had to be tired. The world is a better place with people like you...and I am blessed to say that the Osmonds are my friends and I will hold all of you close in my heart for the rest of my life. Please keep us informed Kathy and take care of yourself too.....Love, hugs and prayers, Charlene

Dear Kathy:
Thank you for your heartfelt and informative update on this blog. Kathy, please know that even though you don't know me, I am here for you as is the ENTIRE Osmond fan and friend base.
Wayne and you have touched my life in a very personal way...bringing music and laughter throughout the years! I only wish at this time, I could re-pay you both, and do whatever I could to help you with all of the tasks that are necessary every day!
I had visited Branson this past September to see Wayne, Jay and Jimmy for my birthday. I traveled 8 hours from North Texas, and the three brothers made me feel so wonderfully special that evening. It is a memory that I will treasure along with the others from my teen days.
I lost my first husband at the tender age of 34 to a sudden death, and it made me realize how precious every moment in our lives is.
I am here for you. I am praying for Wayne, you and your entire beautiful family. I send healing light, love and friendship.
Reach out if you need it! You have a worldwide extended family who is sending love and blessings at every moment.
Thank you for everything you are. Thank Wayne for everything he is. Enjoy every moment and be gentle with yourselves. Love, Carol Scalzo
Thank you so much for the update, Kathy. We've been thinking about Wayne a lot lately, and hoped he was doing better. I'm sad that I won't see Wayne perform anymore, but am so glad that he has you and the kids and the grandkids (and his iPad) to continue to make his life happy and full of love. Wayne shouldn't be surprised by the outpouring of affection.....there is a LOT of love for that sweet, gentle, slightly crazy man out here. He will be missed but never, ever forgotten by any of us!
Having been an Osmond fan for most of my life it breaks my heart to see any of them suffering with health issues . Kathy and Wayne, I just want you both to know that y'all in my prayers . Take care of yourselves and may God Bless you all ! Love, Darlene
I'm one of the husbands who takes his wife to see the Osmonds (often). She was/is the enthusiastic fan and I am the tag along ... but I'm a fan too, and Wayne is my favorite. I bought his book and love the jokes (and take as many opportunities as possible to 'steal' them and use them).
Wayne's recovery from Brain surgery years ago has been an inspiration and I trust he will fully recover in the near future. We will pray for Wayne (and family) over the weeks ahead and trust that God will favor Wayne with renewed health and strength. Perhaps one day Wayne will feel well enough to do another or a few performances with the brothers w/o going into the full rigor and routine of the past.
Sincere and best wishes!
Dear Kathy,
What a thoughtful letter you sent regarding Wayne. Thank you so much. It is never easy to write about health issies regarding our loved one's. All of us wish good health for Wayne, and strength for you and his family. May God bless you all - your Faith will see you through.
Elizabeth, Monroeville PA

Wayne,
Thank you so much for all the years of entertaining us! I am personally very grateful. I send my sincere get well wishes, prayers, and love! Whatever it takes do what you have to to stay healthy. That is the most important thing. I am also grateful that you have your angel, Kathy, to be by your side, as she will throughout Eternity. May Heavenly Father continue to bless you! Love always! Debora
Wayne,
You've given us fans so much with your talent, which I will always treasure! Take care of yourself, rest! Thinking of
You and keeping you in my prayers!
Christine of New Jersey
My prayers are with Wayne and I am so sorry to hear of his illness. I wish him the best and a speedy recovery. He should take it easy and just enjoy life. Relax. he deserves it after such a long and successful career. May god bless him. All the osmonds are a family to me. I remember watching wayne and the brothers on the Donny & Marie show and though that is so many years ago now I still picture wayne as the funny comedian I remember from years ago. All us fans will never forget a favorite segment he did on Donny & Marie about Cinderella and floping the mors?? Amyone remember that? Brings back great memories.. God bless you wayne and Kathy and take care. Ralph Magnocavallo in Brooklyn N.Y..
It's too bad Wayne has had health problems as of late. I was blessed being able to see him and his brothers last Oct in Vegas. Glad I made the decision to go or I may not have seen him again.
My sister had brain cancer two years ago and they blasted it away with Chemo and Radiation. She just had a stroke in Oct of last year the drs said probably from her brain going thru radiation and Chemo. She came home hardly able to walk and the drs took some more scans of her brain. Unfortunately the brain cancer is back and is unoperable. I was able to spend some time with my sister last week and I miss her so much. She's still spunky but is on steroids now which make her rage sometimes.
I wish you, Wayne and your family God's deepest blessings. I don't know why this is happening to my sister but maybe at some time I will know and learn from it.
My best Carol
Dear Wayne and Kathy,
Thank you for your update and so so sorry to read about Wayne's health problems. I saw Wayne in concert two years ago at the Once In A Life Time show. A fantastic guy brought so much pleasure to millions through his music, jokes and the smile. You are always in my thoughts and prayer - will ask our bible study group to pray for Wayne and I hope from the bottom of my heart that you'll go on making a recovery.
Take care, God bless you both.

Hope he is able to enjoy his time recuperating, he deserves some time to relax. May Heavenly Father bless the both of you as you go through this difficult time.

You are missed from the line-up Wayne but of course your health is so important so thoughts will be with you as we watch your brothers perform here in the UK. How wonderful you are Kathy to give him all the love and support he needs and that you both still manage to keep your great sense of humour - tools! I can imagine the same response from my own husband should he ever be faced with similar :) We all love you Wayne, you are part of our lives, loves, ups and downs and we want you to know that we share yours with you. Lots of love and hugs. Julie x
Dear Kathy
I rec'd feed back from my email to Kathy Kinsella.
It is so sad to hear of Wayne's recent stroke we can only hope & pray that he can keep as healthy as possible. He has always been such a soft spoken brother & so sweet. I went to see Merrill, Jay & Jimmy in Watford, England, they were great & sad to think that they won't be touring anymore. It was wonderful to see all the family play in Cardiff 4 years ago, a memory forever. I hope Kathy that all is well with you & hope Wayne's future will get somewhat better, it must be extremely hard for him & you & the family. Wishing you all the very best & love & tell Wayne 'Keep fighting' & have fun with your ipad? Keep strong Kathy. Love Val x
I am so sorry to hear about Waynes health issues sending big hugs from across the pond. So shocked and surprised to hear that you have had a stroke Wayne. Thinking of you and send you loads of love and very best wishes for a speedy recovery. Try and enjoy your rest and quality time with your family. Thank you so much Kathy for updating everyone on his progress. Very much appreciated. Look after our special man.

Cathy thanks for the update on Wayne we miss him so much but he has to look after himself. The only one that can make a diffrence to anyone:s life is the is the Lord Jesus Christ. All we can do is bring Wayne before him as The Lord says take everything to him in Prayer so I will we praying for him and his family.
Thanks Carol
Hi Kathy, It is very sad to hear about Wayne. Reading all the comments on your blog and on facebook shows just how much he is loved and admired. My son had a stroke a birth, it has been hard to watch him struggling with the task that others take for granted, but I think it made him more determined to succeed. I hope that in time he will recover enough to have a long and happy future with you and your family. After 54 years of working he has earned a retirement, most people only work 40 years at best.
Love to you and yours
kathy, thanks for the updates re wayne, hope he get well soon xx
Dearesr Wayne and Kathy
Fisrt of all how can you be surprised to see how many of us are wearing orange.Do you still not know how loved you are? Or is it just as I suspect that you are too humble to realise? Each night as I watch your brother's perform I see a shaddow on the stage- a great big space where you should be. And I miss your beautiful voice adding the richness to the Osmond sound. I miss you so much. But Wayne my dear special friend sadly we all have to accept that there are times and seasons in our lives. And we your fans have to accept that now is your time to rest, relax and enjoy your family after a lifetime of service and giving pleasure to millions. I can't just say thank you- its too small a word but I'll say it anyway. From me, my children and my husband, all of us think you are the best!!
Much love to you both and thank you Kathy for your honesty and trust in telling us the truth.
Lesley, Darrin, Michael and Heather

I had no idea how ill you have been Wayne,& reading this has left me in tears please take care & enjoy being around your loved ones. Thank you so much for the past 50+ years you have given us....you are a very special person & we love you & your family so very very much.
Sending you hugs & prayers all the way from sunny England! xxxx
I so relate to you not realizing Wayne had a stroke-I had the same experience coming back from vacation my Mum was away at a family funeral and my Dad insisted he had flu and wouldn't let anyone near him -we didn't realize until my Mum got home-and got a proper look at him. With great physio he made an almost total recovery although he had to work hard at all those exercises (which he hated :)
I've noticed how much rest he's needed on tour in recent years so if you both feel it's time to kick back and take life easier I think we all understand and support that decision.
Kathy I know Wayne is your priority-but take time for you too -this isn't just hard on Wayne but on you too and having been a carer myself I know it's easy to forget to take care of yourself too with other priorities going on.
Lots of positive thoughts and prayers coming your way Rachel
Thank you Kathy for the update on Wayne. We are missing him over here for the tour, but his health has to take priority. He is one incredibly awesome man, who has meant so much to so many of us over the years. All of us are sending so much love your way right now and are praying for his continued recovery, and for you too as you continue to care for him.
Hi Kathy Thank you on the update of wayne and his health problems i hope hes doing what the doctors told him and resting , i was hoping to meet Wayne in the uk and a bit sad hes not going to be there, as it would have been my first time ever to have seen the osmonds but Wayne,s health is very very much more important hope you are looking after yourself to Kathy as well as Wayne sending prayers and allways in our thoughts and hearts , hugs to wayne xx
Thank you for giving this update Kathy. I (and everyone else) sends all their love and prayer for you both. Wayne is a fighter and love to hear he still wants to go into look at tools!!
We in the UK have missed him on the tour, but would prefer him to just rest and get better each day than risk touring. He is still here in our hearts. Jan xx
Kathy,
You and Wayne are in my thoughts and prayers.
Debbie
I was so sad to hear of Waynes problems, i had my 4th stroke about 6 weeks ago so have an understanding of what he is going through, i find the memory loss the worst thing to cope with, my chrildren are having to remind me of my grandchildrens middle names they keep on telling me then it is gone. my grandchildren mean so much to me which is why it is so hard. i will miss wayne on sunday but i would rather he rest and get well then make the long journey to see us, he is much more important and we know that he cares about us with all of his heart.
i shall pray for you both. get well soon

Dear Wayne & Kathy,
I pray for you both and your families and am saddened to hear that Wayne has had so many issues over the last few years. He certainly hid them well and if anyone can overcome them, Wayne can :)
I have always watched Wayne quite keenly in various dance routines on stage and always say that he is the best dancer of them all... (they are all excellent, of course!)
I wish you and your family well and just wanted to thank Wayne for all the jokes, his excellent voice, his love of life and his obvious love for entertaining, even when it has been so difficult for him. He has given us great joy and truly deserves this well earned time of rest and relaxation.
I'd also like to thank Wayne for his words in the documentary a few years ago called "Osmond Family Values" where he was talking about faith. I listen to his words again and again and they always mean such a lot... "Some people say that they believe in God. Well, it's more than that to us. I mean, God is real. It's not something that people use to satisfy their hearts, the longing of their hearts. Well, is there a God? Of course there's a God." I'm not a Mormon but those words mean a great deal to me in my life. Wayne's conviction gave me that.
And his courage with dealing with the cancer has helped me with my own. He makes me know that faith, courage and a positive attitude is all you need to conquer the bad stuff!
Your are all in my heart and thank you Kathy for looking after Wayne so beautifully. You are a wonderful lady.
Love

All of the Osmonds have treated us like family and I do feel so close to you all. I pray for Wayne, through our Lord Jesus Christ, that he will comfort Wayne and help him recover and relax and that you Kathy will be strong and enjoy your life together. Tell Wayne that he will be missed but his health come first. Now you will have so much quality time with your children and grandchildren. I love you Wayne. God Bless you and all your family. Much love to you all, take care,,Jean T. xxxxxxxx
Dear Kathy,
thank you for your update. I saw the Brothers in concert recently and Wayne was sorely missed. All my love and best wishes are sent to Wayne and most importantly you. The person who is the carer is sometimes forgotton, and it is your strength that will get Wayne through this. Have strength, faith and love and with everyone wishes I know Wayne will get well.
Much love
Roanne
I am so sorry to hear about Wayne, I hope that he gets better very soon. I have been a Osmond fan for 43 years and will always be one. Both of my parents recently had strokes and although minor it is still scary to go through, I wish you a very speedy recovery. Love you always Sheryl
Wayne is in my thoughts and prayers always. I hope he continues to improve every day. God bless you both.
Dear Wayne, Sorry to hear about your health issues, you know with time, patience and prayers it will all get better. I know because I suffer from MS and have had a stroke also. As for the MS it's an everyday challenge and for the stroke I have recovered well with lots of physio, I couldn't walk, have lost the use of my left hand and I can't sing anymore my vocal chords were damaged while intubating me and that just breaks my heart coz singing was my most favorite thing to do. My two grandkids were my sthrength and gave me courage to continue. So Wayne, hang in there with lots of work you will do it, I pray for you daily, stay well and remember you are loved, Bye-Bye

Wayne and Kathy, I am so sorry to hear about all the medical issues. Since the beginning Wayne was my favorite Osmond brother and I've enjoyed so much hearing him singing and watching all of you perform. I'm sending my prayers for the whole family. Much love,

I am very sorry to hear of Wayne's health problems. His deep, rich voice has always been a wonderful contribution to the Brother's singing. But the most important thing is to take care of your health. Be well, Wayne, and God Bless You.

Love and prayers go out to you for a speedy recovery Wayne x x
Thank you Kathy for sharing all this with us. How many other 'famous people' would share this information so freely with their fans? We will miss Wayne so much, but we have our fantastic memories, experiences and photos to look back on. Wayne must now do as everyone tells him to make sure he can recuperate and enjoy life with his wonderful wife, children and grand children. Kathy, I hope as you have now finished travelling, this will not be the end of your blog. Please can you find some time, even if infrequently, to keep us updated of not just Wayne, but what you and your lovely, beautiful family are up to? I so hope so.
Love and God bless to you all xxx
Love and prayers to Wayne, Kathy and the entire Osmond Family. Take care of yourself Wayne. You have alot of people who care about you!

I am so sorry to read about Wayne's illness and I pray that he gets well and recovers quickly. So take it easy Wayne as your family needs you especially Kathy, your children and grandchildren.
Thank you for the update on Wayne.
Really sorry to hear about all the problems I had no Idea it was so serious. Sending you all love & best wishes from the UK & wish you a speedy recovery.
Thank you for keeping us up to date its much appreciated.
Kathy, thanks for sharing Wayne prognosis. I am sure that even though we as fans' are worried about Wayne. As his wife I am sure you have greater concern.
Thank goodness for the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which helps during stressful times like this. And I am sure Wayne has had more blessings by Priesthood holders. It goes without saying that I wish him well, but I also wish you well to. It can be stressful having to do all the work required to help Wayne.

Just wanted to wish you all the best and praying that Wayne makes a full and complete recovery. I have been a fan since the beginning, on the Andy Williams' show. It actually hurts when I find out that anyone in the family is suffering, in whatever way, as each one of them is like a family member to me. Praying also that God give all of you much strength and courage. All of you have been such good examples of loving, kind and wonderful people. I wish there were more like you, especially in todays messed up world. Sending all my love and prayers.
Thank you Kathy for an honest report. That's what I like about Wayne too when he gave us an honest report of Alan's medical condition years ago.
Wayne has been in my prayers, and now I will add you. I know what it is like to be the caregiver.
I saw you all in SLC, July 2008 for the 50th Anniv. with Mormon Tabernacle Choir. I felt that was a complete circle and any performances after that is icing on the cake. It is hard to believe I've been a fan since 1968. I've been there through the years. God Bless the entire Osmond Family.
Wayne and Kathy,
Wishing you a speedy recovery in hopes tht you can get back on the road again. :-)
My thoughts and prayers are with your and I know that our Heavenly Father is keeping a watchful eye on you.
God Bless!!
If you read this Wayne I am praying for you. I have been a long time fan ever since the 1970's in England. I live in Canada now and I too have had a bout with cancer and am beating it although it keeps me in the house a lot. My husband works so I am home a lot on my own. I love to keep up with the Osmond news. If I lived closer to you guys I would love to visit and help out. When I was in the hospital in July of 2011 Donny called me he and Marie were in Toronto on tour.It was a nice surprise. Take care and enjoy your new ipad. Love you all
I hope you'll feel better soon Wayne. I'll be in Manchester to see your brothers and will miss you but your health is more important. Take care!
Wat does the orange color mean? I'm Dutch and Will be wearing orange because it's Dutch but I understand it means something special.
Enjoy the good things of life!
Kathy, thank you for the update. you both (and your family) are in my prayers. Wayne, take it easy and hope that your health improves. I am meeting the brothers again at a meet and greet in April and it will be sad that you are not there with them. When we met a few years ago, you gave me some advice for my niece who, at the time, was struggling with a brain tumour. Unfortunately she passed over two years ago but I have never forgotten the concern you showed me. Thank you for all the wonderful years of music, fun and laughter and keep those jokes coming! Enjoy much more time with Kathy and your wonderful family. Keep the faith and god bless. x
I am sending prayers your way. Thanks so much for sharing we all really do care so much. So glad I was able to see you in Branson in 2011. I will never forget the smile we shared and the beautiful spiritual light in your eyes. You just seemed to have a spiritual glow about you that day. Post a new joke once and a while when your up to it.
Love Mary
Hi Wayne and Kathy.
I go back a long ways with the Osmonds. 1970 to be exact, when I first became a fan! Its inevitable for both of us, that with age, the body is going to mess with us a bit!
Its good to know that our Heavenly Father watches over all of us, and we just need to put it in his hands. Sending my prayers, for a quick recovery.

Thank you Wayne for all the fun and laughter that we've shared over the years. You will be missed at concerts, but your health is far more important. Take care and do whatever Kathy tells you! Ha. Hoping you get well soon.
Love to you too Kathy and take care.
Sending lots of love and best wishes to you, Wayne. xxxxx
Dear Kathy,
I am a faithful reader of your blog, though I don't actively participate and haven't had the opportunity to see the Osmonds in decades and decades. I continue to enjoy getting a glimpse into your life and have been so grateful to be able to read your blog and all that you have chosen to share.
I can only imagine that it was very difficult for you to write this post. I am very happy to hear that Wayne is doing better and continue to keep him in my thoughts as he recovers. I also want to send a special message to you: it is difficult to have a family member with health care needs, and I hope you are taking care of yourself. I am certain that your children and grandchildren are great in taking care of you, as well as the rest of your large extended family. I hope you realize that you do have friends here and that even those among us who are relatively quiet still want to offer any support we can.
Please take care of yourself as you take care of Wayne. I wish the very best for both of you and hope that his days at home are filled with recuperation and plenty of good times with family. You remain in our hearts.
Dearest Wayne and Kathy,
Your message has brought tears to my eyes- I had no idea that when I have seen you performing in the past, that anything was ever wrong - always so professional. I have been fortunate to see the Osmond Brothers at Tunbridge Wells last week (awesome as ever)and it was incredibly sad not to see you Wayne, and to know that you were not well. Wayne, you have been such an inspiration to me, as I too have been through diagnosis and treatment for cancer and you have shown me that life goes on as best we can - you (and your brothers) are just awesome. Thank you for giving me the joy of being an Osmond fan for all this time, and God speed you to a good, quick recovery. Always in my thoughts, Anne XXXX
