Wonky's Blog

"As I've gotten older, since I had my stroke, I have become more reflective of my past. I don't know if this would be very interesting to anyone but I'd like to air my thoughts and feelings to whomever might be interested. I'll begin with one of my favorite memories. In 1963 my little brother, Jimmy was born and when my mother brought him home from the hospital, I was the first sibling to see and hold him. A few years later I found out that he was left handed like I am. Because of that initial bonding I always felt really close to him."
Wonky

As you noticed above Wayne wants to start his own blog so I'm going to set one up for him tonight and he wants to put a little on it every day. I hope that you will all be supportive or he'll probably quit. His attention span isn't too long so they will probably be short entries every day. We've been trying to get him to reminisce about his past and this is the first time that he has decided to do it. Hope you'll all join Wonky's Blog so you can ask questions and interact with him. Love, Kathy

Hi Kathy,
Love it when you keep us abreast of everything and now we will be doubly blessed because we can hear from Wayne as well. It's great that he wants to do this and I hope it helps him in his healing process. Very, very glad to know he's doing better. Prayers to all of you. I think the last show he did was in Burlington, IA before Christmas, is that right? I have a good picture of him that night and I will try to get it posted for you. Love to you both.

Well done Wayne.....like your family, all your friends out there are very proud of you.
Shame you couldnt make the UK tour; I'm in Toronto, Canada now, is there any chance of you making a visit with your brothers before too long.

Wayne,
I look forward to reading the memories you are willing to share :)
I met you at a concert your family did in Alberta Canada in 1979. My Dad interviewed Elder Dunn (he and my Dad were friends), he called you over to talk to my Dad. You were sweet and wonderful to me. You made me feel comfortable and asked me quests I could answer the questions my Dad was asking you---I knew most of the answers ;). Since then I have held a special place in my heart for you :)
Thank you for sharing the experiences in your life.
Love to you,
Kathy

Oh My Dearest Kathy - need you ever doubt that Wonky will not get attention on his blog!!! There are never enough Osmonds to keep our blogging eyes open!!! I love reading Amy's and Brandon and Shelby's, and Don and Jessi's, etc. It is great that Wayne is feeling better - he has a lot of prayer warriors out there supporting him on! And remember he is not getting older just because of the stroke - he will be getting better!! Cos he always has been ONE OF THE BEST!!!! We love you Wayne - Can't wait to get the new address and get connected - Let me be the first to read and comment!! Sometimes the hardest twists and turns we have in this life are there just to bring forth the events and memories that the Lord wants us to put first... though this time in Wayne's life is one of adjustment, it is also still one of learning and growing and that hard time was there to make him stronger and it is strength that keeps all the bad stuff away and brings us positive results in medical testing and everyday tests!!! Glad he has beat the big, bad obstacles once again and that he is here for us! Keep on Blogging Wayne - you have all of us here to love you!! And that is because you have such a good nurse, lover and wife! What a beautiful family for all of us to love and adore - Blessings upon you all!

Thanks for including us, the fans!!

Wayne,
I met you many years ago!!!!! You and the family were in Alberta Canada in 1979 with Elder Paul H. Dunn for 2 concerts and a regional fireside. Between concerts my Dad (a reporter and friends with Elder Dunn) was interviewing Elder Dunn, when you walked by and Elder Dunn asked you to join in the interview. You graciously sat down. As my Dad interviewed you, you asked me if I knew the answer---I knew most :) After my Dad interviewed you, you spent about 10 minutes talking to me. I was in heaven :)
Since then you have always held a special place in my heart :)
I look forward to reading the memories you are willing to share.
Love to you and your family.

Hi Wonky. What a nice little blog. :)

Sorry to hear you had a stroke. My father suffered from a stroke a few years ago therefore I know
how difficult it must have been for you and your family.

I love your favourite memory re you brother Jimmy. It must have been great being the first sibling
to see and hold your baby brother. In fact I am the eldest of four siblings. I remember my
Mother coming home from the hospital with my baby sister. I was almost 5yrs old at the time.
After the initial excitement of seeing and holding my new baby sister I began to feel a little
resentment towards her. All of a sudden this new baby who did absolutely nothing but poop, cry and wake me up in the middle of the night seemed to be getting all of the attention from both of my parents. It was hard to for an almost 5yr old to cope with at the time. :)

Those feelings soon passed and it became almost a pleasurable experience to the one I felt earlier. Having a little sister became fun. It was great having someone to share and play with it.

It's funny how you should mention the fact Jimmy is left handed. Both my sister and brother are
left handed also. My littlest sister and I are both right handed. :)

Sometimes it is great reminiscing about the small and joyful times of the past.

I'd love to hear more. Thank you for sharing. :)

Wayne, you're the bestest friend along with your siblings that I ever had and I thank you for being my friend. Keep on getting better and I'll keep in tuch with you on your blog.

I never got to meet Wayne or his siblings before or gone to any of their canocerts, but my dream is to meet them someday and go to one of their concerts. Wayne, I want you to keep on getting better, cause we your fans miss you and we'll keep in tuch with you, by surporting you, by joining your blog and interact with you, always.

Wayne,
It is okay you had Jimmy's birth year wrong. We all make mistakes, plus if I had a family as large as you have,(which is wonderful) I would probably forget when I was born.
So happy you are getting better and started a blog, I love Kathy's too.
I met your lovely wife last August in Pigeon Forge, met you, Jimmy and Jay too. I am certain you meet a large number of people and there is no way you can remember all of them.
Got to see Merrill, Jay and Jimmy two nights in Vegas in Feb. It was great but missed you being there.
You take care and be careful when you are walking around.
My sister had a stroke last May. She fell backwards in the bathroom approx. 3 weeks ago and broke her coccyx. She is better now. I am writing this so you will be very careful.
God Bless and continue with the BLOG.

Hey Wayne, it's about time. We've all been wanting to hear from you glad you decided to join the blogging scene.

My youngest son is a leftie too, as is my husband. Jake didn't want to use his left hand at first because he spent most of his time with me and I'm right handed. He could do things with both hands but when it came to writing he always tried to use his right hand. He could write right handed but it was awkward for him. Finally I told him to just use his left hand, I had to force the issue - and he has been left handed ever since.
