Beth's Surprise!

Wayne really loved seeing a photo of darling Beth with her "I LOVE WONKY" shirt and for her being so thoughtful by remembering him at this challenging time when he's trying to heal and recuperate. Wayne wants me to thank Josie and Beth for brightening his day and cheering him up. He can't believe how fast Beth has grown up. What happened to that little girl he danced with on the stage and always brought him strawberries?

What's been going on?

What has everyone been doing since Valentine's Day? I tried to post a few photos a couple of days ago but I guess that I've filled up all my photo storage so I need to take some time to read and decide what to do next. Maybe I should just start another blog? What do you suggest?

Wayne has spent the past month going to therapy, doctor appointments, labs, and tests. Almost every week day he has had some medical appointment. Today he mentioned that he was tired of going to doctors and did he have to go again?

The doctors have decided that Wayne's health problems are probably related to the radiation that he had after the brain cancer surgery. Anyone that has had a lot of radiation can tell you about their side-effects and long-term problems caused by the radiation. But it's only because of the radiation, that Wayne has been around the past almost 18 years with us. We're looking at the bright side. He's a living miracle! One doctor commented that he has 9 lives.

After consulting with the neurologist last week, the doctor feels that it's not worth risking Wayne's health by him getting too active, too soon. After resting and healing for 3 months, the doctor will give him some more tests and reevaluate his situation. Unfortunately this means that Wayne won't be able to be with everyone in Las Vegas next weekend.

He wants me to thank everyone for all their love and support. He's enjoyed reading all of your comments on Facebook, your get-well cards and is very optimistic about the future. Thank you for everything!

10th Anniversary

Today is the tenth anniversary of the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics. In celebration they had a ceremony to relight the cauldron but from what I saw on television, they never got the cauldron lit.

Utah has the ability and facilities to host the Winter Olympics again in 2022 but what will the exploratory committee recommend after studying the idea for the next four months? For sure they'll recommend a new cauldron. Do you think Utah should host the Winter Olympics in 2022?

Reversed Roles

Thank you Laura for emailing me this photo! I haven't seen it before. It's really touching because Jimmy is now taking care of Wayne.

Wonky's Book Worms

Wayne and I caught up with our reading of the Book of Mormon tonight. I have to report that we didn't read at least one verse every day last month so we are starting over. Please post a comment to let us know that you are still in the competition and haven't missed a day reading your scriptures?

What a wonderful example of faith and trust in the Lord that Nephi possessed. His faith and obedience to the Lord never wavered and he didn't ever murmur or complain. Even when those around Nephi complained against God, Nephi never weakened in his obedience and love for the Lord. An example was when Nephi broke his bow. He still trusted in the Lord, worked diligently to overcome the challenge and didn't complain even though he was tired and hungry. Nephi also showed unwavering faith by the Lord's command to build a ship, etc.

When difficult times come into my life, I need to put my faith and trust in the Lord, diligently follow the commandments and not complain but endure patiently all that the Lord would have me go through. Please share at least one way that you can apply what you have read to your own life.

This month we will continue our reading of 2nd Nephi Chapter 10 through Jacob Chapter 5.
